About Me

Quail and Manna Blogger's pictureWelcome to my piece of the world, thank you for stopping by. I hope you like what you’ve seen so far. I’ve been working on the about me section for weeks and I couldn’t come up with a way to introduce myself. I kept asking myself well how should I describe myself? Who am I really? Should I start by saying that I’m a university dropout? Or should I talk about the fact that I love sweets or that I really like baking? Or should I talk about being a wife and my desire to be stay at home mom one day?

What truly defines me?

There are so many ways I can define myself but the one way that made the most sense was telling you that I am a child of God. You don’t see that often but that’s basically the thing that defines me. It determines how I think, how I act, how I speak and how I live. If you took away all those other things that I said, I would still be me, I would still have a purpose and I would still be joyful. But if you took away my last definition, then my life would be meaningless and I would constantly be trying to define myself which is not what God intended me to do. From now on when someone asks me to tell them about myself, I’ll try not to talk about my job, my home, my hobbies. I’ll talk about myself as a Christian because in the end, that’s the definition that carries us into eternity.

Part of telling you about me, is telling you how I got here in the first place. How did this blog come about?img_7214

I believe this was a project in the making for many years now but the defining moment happened in the summer of 2016. After working full-time and being in school part-time, I officially decided to drop out of school and explore the things that mattered the most to me. This blog is one of those things. I decided that I wanted to write and find a way to express myself and build a strong community for women either in person or online. This blog didn’t happen overnight. It took months and many hours of writing, thinking, crying and frustration to finally feel comfortable enough to publish it. It’s still a work in progress but I think it has a chance to survive now. It’s my little baby and I think I have a good idea on how to make it thrive.

What can you expect from this blog?

Visit this blog with an open mind. This blog will give you a glimpse of my mind, a glimpse into how I think and do life. This blog can’t be squeezed into one category because I can’t be boxed in. I won’t be boxed in. I don’t fit into a specific mold. My mind is complex, my thoughts are complex and that’s the beauty of being human.  I will talk about and explore all the things that I love from a christian perspective. From my DIYs to my bible studies; everything I do is motivated and fueled by the fact that I love the Lord. In the Lord, I am free to explore so many aspects of life.

My blog isn’t just a blog about bible study or devotionals. Although this will be a big part of it, it won’t be the only things. Here are a few things you can expect from this blog:

  • A blog post on Wednesdays and Saturdays
  • Encouragement in your walk with the Lord
  • DIY projects and home decoration tips
  • Product recommendations that I love and swear by from skin products, Christian books to home essentials.
  • Posts about singleness and marriage. Though I am married, I understand the struggles and needs of singles since I once was there (not too long ago). We all need someone to talk about the struggles from both statuses with an open and honest heart. You can expect that from me.
  • Interview posts once a month with fellow believers
  • Guest posts from other Christian bloggers

I have so much in store for you. I’d love it if you would embark on this journey with me. Life is more enjoyable with a crowd to cheer you on.
